Indoor Cycling

Indoor Cycling is a fun way to get fit, burn calories, tone up and look and feel fantastic.

With no road safety concerns, you can concentrate soley on the task at hand - getting fit & having a great workout - rather than dodging traffic. During a class you will ride to motivating music in the comfort of an air-conditioned studio. Jan will use the music to reflect the terrain of the ride, she will inspire you to exercise to your potential. The focus is always on you being the best that you can be.

Jan uses the most advanced Shwinn bikes that are regularly serviced and always in A1 condition. They are fully adjustable and fit all shapes and sizes.

Indoor Cycling burns loads of calories and caters for everyone ranging from beginners to skilled athletes.

The concept for the Indoor Cycle bike was simple - no computers, bells or whistles.

Cycling will build endurance and fitness and create a strong, shaped and toned physique. You will finish the class feeling invigorated, de-stressed and full of vitality.

About Johnny G

Johnny G was an endurance cyclist who first developed his indoor cycling program in the early 1980s while training on a stationary bike for the race across America. It was during this time that Johnny coined the term "spinning" and began a 10-year journey that would eventually lead to one of the most successful fitness programmes ever.

Jan was taught indoor cycling using the original Johnny G method. A Johnny G quote that is special to Jan is:

"Remember you cannot get fit in one work out, just as you cannot live your life in one day. Only experience in the saddle will give you the understanding and essential fitness base necessary to achieve greater levels of health and fitness".

Quote from Dr. Edmund Burk - Researcher and Doctor for the US National Cycling Team:

I have to admit I was a little skeptical about the Spinning program when I first heard about it. I can understand the allure of riding with friends on the local roadways, but cycling in a packed exercise room? And going nowhere? Boring.

Of course, I was wrong. Granted, the scenery remains the same, but the workout changes constantly. The Spinning program keeps your mind engaged while vigorously challenging your body.

The Spinning program is an excellent adjunct to my road cycling because it accurately replicates the feel of my bike - from the fit, the resistance type of pedaling, and movement in and out of the saddle. I have recommended it to the elite level cyclists that I work with on the U.S. National Team as an addition to their off-season riding; it offers them a total mind and body workout.

The lack of concerns about handling or road safety allows you to do mind work as well as physical work. The guided visualisation and the music make it a very motivational, inspirational workout.
